This research aims to identify and analyze the economic potential in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra, and formulate development strategies for regional superior sectors. The research focus covers four main sectors: agriculture, fisheries, trade and tourism. This district has fertile agricultural land, producing rice, sweet potatoes, corn, palm oil and rubber as superior commodities. The fisheries sector is developing rapidly with shrimp farming and capture fisheries in the Malacca Strait. Trade in speciality foods such as Dodol Bengkel and peanut bread, as well as other MSME products, has promising economic potential. Natural tourism, including beaches, waterfalls and Berhala Island, also offers significant economic development opportunities. Based on this potential, the research identifies opportunities for developing agricultural and fishery product processing industries, traditional food industries, tourism, and supporting industries. Infrastructure development, improving the quality of human resources, applying modern technology, and effective promotion are needed to optimize this potential. Research also emphasizes the importance of sustainable management of natural resources and the preservation of local wisdom in economic development. With proper and integrated management, these sectors can become the main drivers of the regional economy, increasing employment opportunities, strengthening food security, and improving the welfare of the Serdang Bedagai community.
