Plagiarism Screening
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Digital Learning and Education (JDLE) will be screened for plagiarism and self-plagiarism using TURNITIN, Plagiarism Checker X, and Google-based search engines. Depending on the level of originality and similarities with other documents, the managing editor will decide on whether to immediately reject the manuscripts, contact authors for further clarifications or to proceed to the peer-review process.
Similarity threshold
The maximum acceptable overall similarity index is 20%. A manuscript with a similarity index above 20% is returned to the authors for revision before it enters peer review. It is rejected if the overlap is not reduced to the threshold or if plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate submission is confirmed. The editor also reads the similarity report itself, because a low overall index does not exclude concentrated copying from a single source. See also Publication Ethics.
