Abstract

This research aims to find out the problems with the conditions of breeding and the Medan Zoo animals, which are very worrying, as well as the policies regarding the supervision and control of protected animals at the Medan Zoo. This research uses qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. In accordance with the results of the research that has been carried out, efforts to monitor and control protected animals at Medan Zoo need to be implemented in order to manage and improve the condition of the existing animals. The efforts conveyed by the Medan Zoo management are to care for the animals, such as cleaning the animal cages. Then separate the different types of animals. Apart from that, the management also said that by feeding the animals according to a set schedule, they will be able to control the health of the existing animals. However, with the current conditions at Medan Zoo, there are a few problems in the food department, so a lack of food will affect the condition of the animals. So, monitoring and control is necessary so that the animals can survive and feel safe living in captivity
