Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the causes of environmental pollution in the Olo Belawan beach area. This research uses qualitative descriptive research to obtain data about the perceptions of the community and related agencies related to the management of Olo Belawan Beach. The results of this research indicate that Olo Belawan Beach is known to experience environmental pollution, namely water pollution. The causative factor for environmental pollution in the Olo Belawan Beach area is the presence of various types of rubbish on the edge of this beach, both organic and inorganic rubbish. The trash found was plastic bottles, glass bottles, plastic food wrappers, cans, glass, cloth, etc. Apart from that, waste disposal activities carried out by companies or factories around Olo Belawan Beach are the cause of pollution. So there is a need for cooperation between local communities to reduce environmental pollution around the Olo Belawan Beach area.
