Abstract

Education 5.0 uses advanced digital technologies to deliver personalized, human-centered learning. This systematic review examined which advanced digital technologies are used in medical education, and their benefits, challenges and prospects for Digital Medical Education 5.0. EMBASE, Scopus, MEDLINE/PubMed and Web of Science were searched for full-text English studies published in the past 15 years; 95 articles were screened and 44 met the inclusion criteria, which were synthesized qualitatively. Extended reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain and digital learning make learning more interactive and effective, deepen understanding of complex medical concepts and prepare students for clinical challenges. A balanced approach that combines digital innovation with traditional teaching and interpersonal skills is recommended.
