Abstract

This study explores University of Dhaka students’ online learning experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and their relevance to contemporary blended education in Bangladesh. A cross-sectional online survey (n = 147), conducted among University of Dhaka students in late 2020 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and Mann–Whitney U tests, revealed YouTube, Coursera, and Khan Academy as preferred platforms, with flexibility and affordability as key motivators. Major barriers included poor internet, device shortages, and cost—disproportionately affecting rural and low-income students. Despite high enrollment, completion rates were low, and students called for better pedagogy and interactivity. Findings offer critical insights for equitable, technology-enhanced higher education in post-pandemic Bangladesh.
